Christianity is becoming irrelevant…culturally, socially, and morally. The modern liberal will tell you to “be nice”, “be loving”, “be accepting”, “tone it down”, or you just are not Christian. Many believers have bought this psychological ploy hook line and sinker. If you choose any other path than coexistence you will likely be chastised into non-existence…even by other Christians. It is now culturally acceptable for liberals to chastise and berate Christians for their beliefs and when they choose to respond they are told to be nice, be quiet, and don’t challenge those who believe differently. As if this was the Godly and scriptural criteria for being Christian. Many believers today have forgotten that the apostles laid down their lives in sacrifice to tell people who disagreed with them about the Gospel! Not only that, they traveled thousands of miles into foreign territories, ruled by foreign powers to challenge the status quo about their beliefs. The modern Christian needs to be challenged. Be quiet and fit in? Is this what the Bible tells you? The modern Christian who likely has rarely cracked their bible will likely say… “yes…it’s the way to be a good person and show the love of Christ.” Shockingly the Apostle Paul, the Apostle of Grace, has a different answer.

2 Corinthians, 6:17, Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.

Paul is indicating very clearly to New Testament believers that there is something to “come out” from and something “unclean” to depart from. How does this jive with the modern Christian teaching that all things are clean, and all things are lawful? 

What does the Christian believer do in their pursuit of holiness and truth? What are they to use for their moral and spiritual guide? The liberal of today will tell you that the measure for truth is “acceptance”, but the Holy Bible has a much deeper code for holiness. God reached down into the affairs of man on more than once occasion…in fact on many occasions but only twice in history to date has He done so with miracles that shook nations and empires with the visible manifestation of His presence. 

The Bible tells us that on both occasions Jesus Christ (Yeshua the Messiah) was present. The first time God manifested His glory to an entire nation called out of Egypt for the expressed goal of giving them His sanctified Law. He did it with awesome power, miraculous wonders, and fear inducing sound. The second time He did it with compassionate wonder, healing power, and resurrection life. Both times was for the purpose of expressing His never-ending grace and law. Both times to manifest His image and His name and to cast down false idols, images, and names. All of these terms can be synonymous for how God operates in manifesting His presence as the true God, true Image, and true name (person) vs. a false idol, broken image, or a name (person) that will not receive eternal life.

1 Samuel 24:21, Swear now therefore unto me by the Lord, that thou wilt not cut off my seed after me, and that thou wilt not destroy my name out of my father’s house.

Just as every person comes under judgment, this judgment is personified by an evaluation of their seed, their name, and whether they will continue to exist (manifest) or come under judgment and be “cut off” from their “house”. Just as every person manifests a name, so does God.

“Like other Hebrew proper names, the name of God is more than a mere distinguishing title. It represents the Hebrew conception of the divine nature or character and of the relation of God to His people. It represents the Deity as He is known to His worshipers, and stands for all those attributes which He bears in relation to them and which are revealed to them through His activity on their behalf. A new manifestation of His interest or care may give rise to a new name. So, also, an old name may acquire new content and significance through new and varied experience of these sacred relations.

It can readily be understood, therefore, how the divine name is often spoken of as equivalent to the divine presence or power or glory. In Ex. xxiii. 20-23 it is promised that YHWH’s angel will lead and give victory to His people, who must yield reverent obedience, for, the Lord says, “my name is in him.” (Jewish Encyclopedia)

The Written Law of Moses is heavily focused on holiness and acceptable behavior before God. All of the ten commandments associate those approved behaviors vs. unapproved behaviors with proper worship of God vs. worshiping idols and fallen images. 

When the Law was first given to Moses, God wrote it with His own hand with the expressed instruction that nothing should be added to it or taken away from it. This was called the Written Law of Moses. Over the centuries the Pharisees and Rabbinical teachers handed down their own Oral Traditions called the Oral Law. In time these Oral Traditions started to be treated the same as the Written Law and actually ended up becoming a burden and in some cases violated the Written Law.

The modern Christian has likely been taught that the law has been done away, but is that what the Old and New Testament scriptures actually say? Did the first century church actually stop keeping the Written Law of Moses? Or did they follow Yeshua’s instruction regarding the Written Law and His criticism of the Pharisees’ Rabbinical Oral Law? In our zeal to accept the gift of grace have we in our haste thrown out the biblically mandated Written Law that Yeshua said would never pass away? 

Matthew 5:18, For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Can Christianity exist without God’s law? Can grace exist without God’s law? What need for grace…if there is no law? Is the measure of truth for the Christian love without conditions? Love without holiness? What was the measure of truth and what did the Apostles and first century Christians use to determine holiness vs. coexistence? Can the modern Christian dismiss this issue as unimportant and irrelevant? Let’s check what the scriptures say…and then decide. 

Believers need to remember this fundamental point of those who tell them to Co-exist. They in reality are being told to hide the manifestation of the seed of the Kingdom of God. They can believe what they want and worship as they desire, but that must not interfere with the social order. Freedom of religion has disappeared in the name of “freedom of worship”. Their beliefs are forced to be hidden in the name of Co-existence and their beliefs hidden into non-existence. Those who fail to do so will be labeled, unloving, radical, judgmental, arrogant, and critical of others. Knowing this what does the Bible tell the believer to do? We cannot escape the fundamental truth of the scriptures that there was once a nation that expressed saving faith in the blood of the lamb, was delivered from a people who told them to coexist and become their slaves. Once God delivered these people of faith, he didn’t tell them to just fit in and make those nations around them feel good. He drew them out and manifested His name, His presence, His image, and His countenance, for the sole purpose of giving them His law, not so they could coexist, but so that they could be a light to the nations. The believer of today has the same burden as the believer 4,000 years ago, be saved by faith in the Lord and receive His law and manifest it. How will Christians respond? Will they accept the mandate of the state to worship only in your heart, while restrained from manifesting those beliefs in outward action? Or will they do what the Bible tells them to do and write the Law of God in the inward parts and manifest it in their outward actions (Jeremiah 31:33)?

The apostle James gives us a clear answer. “Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. (James 2:18)
