TOP MISTAKES PROPHECY TEACHERS MAKE!

You got to love it when you come across a prophecy teacher that can make sense of the scriptures. Unfortunately, there are too many popular teachers that can’t or won’t follow the actual Bible and what it says. Why? Love of a teacher or a popular theory…oftentimes it is just lack of discipline when reading what the Bible says and what it does not.

God has given us the gift of logical contradiction. All the data we need to understand what is yet to come is already in the Bible. What is missing is a correct paradigm to put that data through that will give us the circumstantial facts through “if/then” statements. God didn’t make it easy…and He did it that way on purpose. In fact, Daniel was plainly told, “…go your way…for the book is sealed…until the end…”. 

Daniel 12:8, And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things? 9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.

Do you think that stopped Daniel and every other prophecy buff since his time from trying to unseal it? No. But that does mean that some of our most cherished prophetic assumptions and theories for the past 100 years are likely based on incorrect assumptions…and as such those conclusions that have been so popular are likely wrong. What is the outcome?

Matthew 24:44, Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

How can it be that His very own church is unaware of the accurate time of His coming? Combine thousands of years of incorrect assumptions over a sealed book with a dedication to traditional popular teachers with a lack of dutiful attention to the specifics hidden in the transparent scriptures. That being the case what are the Top Mistakes that Prophecy Teachers Make that are plainly contradicted by the actual scriptures?

One of the biggest mistakes is that the first 4 (seals) Horsemen of the Apocalypse (Revelation 6:1-8) happen in the End time (Daniel’s 70thWeek). The context of Revelation 6 shows that these first 5 Seals are not the Wrath of God. In the 5th Seal the martyrs under the altar are complaining to God that He has not sent forth His vengeance (wrath) on those who kill the Saints. 

Also, they complain that God is taking too long to do so. This should tell us that these events (first 4 seals) are not brief in time even though massive in scope. The horse imagery combined with the martyr’s complaint that God is taking too long should tell you that the amount of time that these first 4 seals occur would be a very long time…the kind of time you would need to use a horse to ride that kind of distance.

Daniel 8:26, And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told is true: wherefore shut thou up the vision; for it shall be for many days. 27 And I Daniel fainted, and was sick certain days; afterward I rose up, and did the king’s business; and I was astonished at the vision, but none understood it.

We also need to remember the fact that early in the book of Revelation John is shown a vision of the throne of God and the opening of the seven sealed book. Keep in mind a vision, like a dream, acts within the constraints of the facts and realities of the context of that dream or vision. John is seeing God wanting the 7 sealed book to be opened and nobody is found to open it. John is weeping because of that fact. Why? He witnessed the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He also understood the reality of that miraculous event on all of fallen creation. Did he suddenly forget what he saw Jesus do? No. He is living within the reality of that vision. 

It takes place before the crucifixion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. In the vision of Revelation 5, which is showing a past event, nobody had been found yet who had qualified to open the 7 sealed book. If the timing of this event within the vision had taken place after the resurrection of Jesus, John would have raised his hand and said, “There is the guy in Jerusalem who was crucified and died and rose again on the third day…He can open the book…”. John didn’t do this because the reality he was experiencing in the vision that event had not transpired yet.

What does this mean? God wanted the seven sealed book opened before the crucifixion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. When Christ rose to meet the Father, He likely took the book and began opening the seals…2,000 years ago. 

What does this mean? The first 4 seals have already been opened over the past 2,000 years…and the martyrs under the altar still have the right to complain that their murders have not yet been punished…even though those first 4 seals account for a “fourth part of the earth” (Revelation 6:8). So regardless of whether you determine that “fourth part” to be a quantitative number or a geographical region…either way it does not answer the martyrs’ complaint that their murderers have not been punished yet. Those first 4 seals are not the Wrath of God and are not punishment for the slaughter of the saints.

Having that number (fourth part of the earth) occur over 2,000 years certainly makes it more possible for the first 4 seals to have been opened yet allows the martyrs to make the statement that none of those 4 seals are punishment for those who killed them. It also opens the possibility that the event of the martyrs receiving their robes at the fifth seal could occur without anyone on earth knowing anything about it.

Revelation 6:9, And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: 10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? 11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

This should also tell you that these events occur before the end-time tribulation as the martyrs are told to wait a little while longer until their fellow servants are killed just like they were. 

This should tell you the first 5 seals occur before any speculated “rapture” (pre-trib, pre-wrath, or post-trib) and are not the Wrath of God in any way shape or form. The Wrath of God is very specifically detailed as the “7 last plagues”.

Revelation 15:1, And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.

What should this tell you? Any other plagues that occur in the book of Revelation that are not the 7 last plagues are not the Wrath of God. Anyone trying to tell you otherwise…whether it be trying to parse out some of the other plagues as the wrath of the Lamb have a logic problem. I can see why some get to this point. They look at the Sixth Seal and see the Wrath of the Lamb. 

Revelation 6:12, And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; 13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. 14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. 15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; 16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: 17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

What are they missing? How can you have the Wrath of God at the Sixth Seal when it appears to occur before the 7 Trumpets and the 7 Vials of God’s Wrath? Remember how John was given the vision of the 7 sealed scroll and God was wanting to open it and how that vision occurred out of order in time? God was giving the backstory for what was about to occur. It is the same thing here. 

Why have the 6th Seal showing the Wrath of God out of order in time? God is answering the prayer of the martyrs of the 5thSeal and is showing them the fate of those who are martyring the saints. God is juxtaposing the fate of the martyrs under the altar (5th Seal) with the fate of those who killed them (6th Seal). 

Just as we don’t get to see the robes handed to the martyrs at the 5th Seal. The vision of the 6th Seal is not for us. It is for the martyrs. They are being shown the future and the answer of their prayer and what is about to happen at the opening of the 7th Seal with all the events contained within the 7 sealed book.

Think of every 6 in the pattern as the seed that precedes the seventh (manifestation) of what occurred in the prior 6. 6 Seals precede the manifestation at the 7th seal which brings forth the Trumpets. 6 Trumpets are the seed that precede the manifestation of the 7 vials (Wrath of God) at the 7th Trumpet. It is the same with Genesis 1 and 2. The first 6 days produce the seeds of creation which are not manifest until the seventh day.

Genesis 2:5, And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the Lord God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. 6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.

The prophetic pattern repeats throughout creation and time.
