Will Israel Sign a 7 Year Covenant with Death?

It is our own certainty that we hold the truth that keeps us in the prison of a lie. 

False presumption typically keeps us from seeing the truth…rather than believing an out and out lie. We do it to ourselves. And that is what brings us to the End-times.

Will Israel sign a 7-year covenant with death? This is the trope that prophecy teachers bring out every time they want to tell you “The Antichrist will sign a 7-year peace treaty with Israel so they can restart temple sacrifices…then the Antichrist will betray Israel and commit the Abomination of Desolation”. 

No doubt about it…it has got a great hook and legs. This is the kind of teaching you can sell tickets for. Unfortunately, I’m not selling tickets. I just want the truth. If it is true, it won’t contradict the simple logic of the scriptures. Most prophecy teachers have never taken a logic class. 

Their methodology for reconciling scriptures typically starts with “my favorite pastor told me…” and they don’t realize they are using a paradigm to eliminate the consideration of all the scriptures and strain out the ones that don’t conveniently fit what their favorite pastor told them.

This question of the “Covenant of Death” is valid. Where does it come from?

Isaiah 28:15, Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves: 16 Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste. 17 Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place. 18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.

Most end-time prophecy teachers boldly declare this treaty will be made with or forced upon Israel. This is Daniel’s 70thweek. Now I’m not debating this is Daniel’s 70th week. I’m debating the commonly accepted belief that the “Covenant of Death” is between Israel and the Beast or the Antichrist. This is the false presumption that has been pushed on believers for decades. But is it scripturally valid? 

No doubt this is the tribulation, the rest of Isaiah 28 describes how you thresh the harvest. But is God provoked by Israel supposedly signing a covenant or being forced to sign a covenant with the Beast or the Antichrist?

We are given a hint in verse 12 the cause of this controversy that brings on tribulation.

Isaiah 28:12, To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.

Earlier in the chapter it talks about Israel’s drunken priests and prophets lying in their own vomit that have “erred in judgement” (Isaiah 28:7). They are incapable of teaching and as such the people are incapable of hearing of the “refreshing”. “Refreshing” is an allusion to the Messiah. This is the cause of the Tribulation. Verse 16 shows that the principal issue at dispute is the “chief cornerstone”. This is the “Controversy of Zion”.

Isaiah 34:1, Come near, ye nations, to hear; and hearken, ye people: let the earth hear, and all that is therein; the world, and all things that come forth of it. 2 For the indignation of the Lord is upon all nations, and his fury upon all their armies: he hath utterly destroyed them, he hath delivered them to the slaughter…8 For it is the day of the Lord’s vengeance, and the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion.

It is this Controversy of Zion that has drawn Israel and the whole world into this scenario. It’s a set up…by God. But why? The Controversy of Zion is the rejection of Jesus Christ (Yeshua the Messiah). Some will say, “no it’s the covenant that Israel has made with the Beast or the Antichrist”. 

Daniel 11:22, And with the arms of a flood shall they be overflown from before him, and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant.

The trouble with this idea is that it is based on false presumption that the Covenant with Death is a covenant with the Beast or Antichrist. What if it isn’t? Is there any scriptural proof for an alternative? Yes. 

Now, I’m not debating that the Prince of the Covenant in Daniel 11 makes a covenant. He does make a covenant for 7 years, just not with Israel. He makes it between 10 Islamic (Esau) nations for the sole purpose of causing the Abomination of Desolation in the Tabernacle (temple) of Yehova (YHWH) in Jerusalem. 

Revelation 13:1, And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. 2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. 3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. 4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? 5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. 6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. 7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

The Beast is an empire that forms because of Israel’s activity on the Temple Mount and the worship of YHWH (Yehova). These 10 Islamic nations hate that Israel has reinstituted the temple sacrifices and are following the Torah on what they view as their holy site. In my last newsletter I showed Erdogan has called for the unification of Islamic nations to stymie Israel’s expansionism. These 10 nations are going to unite for the sole purpose of stopping the worship of YHWH (Yehova) and the reinstituted Torah based Temple Sacrifices.

Again, no debate there is a 7-year covenant it just won’t be with Israel…it will be between Israel’s enemies. Is this the “Covenant of Death” that Isaiah is discussing? No. 

If this is not the Covenant of Death that Isaiah is talking about, then what is? The hint is in the middle of Isaiah 28. It relates to the “Chief Cornerstone”. Isaiah cites this term right before discussing Israel’s confusion and insistence on remaining in the “Covenant of Death”.

Matthew 21:42, Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?

How surprising that we see the term “cornerstone” return in Jesus’ own words and immediately after his criticism of the Pharisees and the Chief Priests.

Matthew 21:28, But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard. 29 He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went. 30 And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not. 31 Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.

Jesus is making it very clear in this chapter that He and God have a problem with the Pharisees and how they are administering the Covenant of YHWH (Yehova). They had earlier questioned who gave Him His authority and this whole chapter is a debate over who has authority to administer the Covenant of the Torah of YHWH (Yehova).

Matthew 21:43, Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. 44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder. 45 And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spake of them. 46 But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet.

The debate concludes with Jesus declaring judgement upon the Chief Priests and the Pharisees all in relation to the stone that they were rejecting. Their next goal was to kill him. Don’t forget the context of Isaiah 28. This Covenant (Torah) was administered by the Chief Priests and Pharisees. 

Matthew 23:2, Saying The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat:

Jesus took away their right to rule the Covenant. What most modern Christians do not understand, even though they claim to understand Paul’s writings…is that the Torah has two administrations. Paul writes about this in great detail. He writes about how Moses was the Administrator of the Torah that was given at Mt. Sinai and how Israel was “baptized into Moses”.

1 Corinthians 12:1, Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;

This was the first administration of the Torah that Jesus said would NOT “pass away”.

Matthew 5:17, Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Now most Christians have been taught the exact opposite of what Jesus said. They all claim it did pass away and Christ fulfilled it so we don’t have to. Can you see how a false and unscriptural presumption sends you off in contradiction to Jesus Himself? This is exactly what the Pharisees were doing. That should worry you. 

So, if the Torah did Not pass away, then where does that leave us? If you haven’t learned the simple patterns and fractals of nature and the Torah, you’re going to have difficulty understanding what Paul teaches.

Romans 1:20, For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

All of nature follows a simple pattern. Death and Resurrection. Seed then Fruit. Descend then Ascend. Paul knew this and he knew Israel had to fulfill this pattern just as the Administrators of the Covenant had to fulfill this pattern. So, if we have one Torah and two administrations, we have two administrators; Moses and Yeshua. 

These two need to fulfill the imagery of their respective fractal. Moses needed to fulfill the imagery of Sin and Death (judgement/seed) and Yeshua needed to fulfill the imagery of Resurrection Life (grace/fruit). What do you do with a seed? Bury it in the ground as a picture of death. What comes forth? On the contrary, the Fruit ascends in glorious life like resurrection. The Torah is the same, the administrator has changed. 

Moses could not enter the promised land and could not ascend. He was buried in the wilderness. Like him, the whole first generation of Israel that left Egypt (save 2) also died in the wilderness. The first tablets of stone the covenant was written on descended down Mt Sinai and were broken. They are all a picture of a seed death.

The second set of tablets were carved out at the bottom of the mountain and had to ascend and the same covenant was written on the new set of tablets. At this second writing, Moses is shown the Glory of the Lord and is given a glowing countenance; when he descends the people of Israel are afraid of him and withdraw from him (Exodus 34). The second generation of Israel that left Egypt ascended to the promised land like a resurrected fruit.

Exodus 34:4, And he hewed two tables of stone like unto the first; and Moses rose up early in the morning, and went up unto mount Sinai, as the Lord had commanded him, and took in his hand the two tables of stone. 5 And the Lord descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the Lord. 6 And the Lord passed by before him, and proclaimed, The Lord, The Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, 7 Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the third and to the fourth generation. 8 And Moses made haste, and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshipped. 

This is the presentation of the new administrator of the Torah to Moses. The Pharisees and Chief Priests rejected the new administrator and as such are still under the administration of the “Law of Sin and Death”.

Romans 8:1, There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

This is the Controversy of Zion! It is all about the rejection of the Chief Cornerstone, Jesus the Christ. Until Israel accepts Yeshua as the Administrator of the Torah, they are still stuck under the Old Administrator of the Torah, which results in death. This is the “law of sin and death” that Paul is referring to.

2 Corinthians 3:6, Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. 7 But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:8 How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?

For those of you who think I’ve gotten off on the wrong track…think again. Notice Paul is juxtaposing the two administrations of the Torah. One is in stone and the other in the spirit. One brings death and the other brings life. Paul is directly citing the Torah under Moses as being associated with Death. 

This is the Covenant of Death that the leadership of Israel have remained under till this day. In the end they will reaffirm this choice by restarting temple sacrifices and essentially telling YHWH (Yehova) that they are still rejecting the new administrator of the resurrected Torah, Jesus the Christ (Yeshua).

This will prompt God to send the scourge to chastise them and bring them to the point that He can talk with them about Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 34:8, For it is the day of the Lord’s vengeance, and the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion.

The Covenant of Death is not between Israel and the Beast or the Antichrist. If you don’t understand Paul’s teaching it is because you have been taught a paradigm and a false presumption that is filtering out the rest of the scriptures, which is keeping you from seeing the truth.
