Why is this important? The book of Daniel and Revelation make it quite plain that in the End (Final 7-year Tribulation) Jewish Torah Sacrifices will recommence then be halted by the appearance of the False Prophet (Antichrist) in the middle of the 7 years (Daniel 8:12-14). The Red Heifer sacrifice is for the purpose of restoring those who are outside the camp and are defiled and unclean through contact with death needing to become clean and re-enter the camp and the sanctuary (Numbers 19).
What we many have been asking for centuries is… “What will start the count of the final 7-year tribulation?” What event? Is it simply a count of 6,000 years from Adam and Eve’s exile from the first camp, Eden? Is it Shemitahs or Jubilees? Or is it a provoking event that sparks God to hand Jesus (Yeshua) the scroll with the seven seals? Or is it a mix of both?
We know that the first seal and the rider of the white horse cannot be the Antichrist. Why? He is not revealed until the middle of the tribulation (2 Thessalonians 2:3). But we do know one thing…the Beast coming out of the sea is appointed for one purpose…
Revelation 13:1, And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. 2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. 3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. 4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? 5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. 6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. 7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
Let’s be clear this Beast is appointed and authorized by God. Full stop! For 42 months and when he is actually documented as speaking it is against God’s tabernacle. He makes war against God’s people…Israel to overcome them. This does not sound like God is holding Israel in favor at this point in time. But why? Didn’t He just return them to the promised land over the past 70 years? What could provoke this response by God? If it is by God…or is it just the heathen raging over God’s Torah being implemented in Israel?
What if Israel does conduct the Red Heifer sacrifice and God does not recognize it as valid because Israel has failed to accept the one who came fulfilling the scarlet thread, cedar wood, and the hyssop in the midst of the 7,000-year week…Jesus Christ?
Numbers 19:19, And the clean person shall sprinkle upon the unclean on the third day, and on the seventh day: and on the seventh day he shall purify himself, and wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and shall be clean at even.
Numbers 19:6, And the priest shall take cedar wood, and hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the midst of the burning of the heifer.
What if the Red Heifer itself is not prophetic of the Messiah, but is prophetic of another that must incorporate the symbols of the Messiah as a part of her sacrifice. Remember the Messiah is a male lamb (Passover)…not a female cow.
Revelation 13:8, And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
Also remember that just because the sacrifice is done outside the camp does not insist that the Red Heifer is the Messiah. It is done outside the camp because the one that the Messiah is redeeming is also outside the camp and is defiled and unclean.
Also take note of how the Red Heifer is brought to the priest by the people, indicative of the Red Heifer being associated with the people…not the redeemer. In addition, remember how the ashes of the Red Heifer defile those who are clean. Both the priest who burns the sacrifice and the one who gathers the ashes must be cleansed with water and remain unclean until evening. And the one sprinkling the water of the Red Heifer must also be purified on the seventh day.
What if God does not acknowledge Israel’s usage of the Red Heifer sacrifice to cleanse the priests and the sanctuary and they commence sacrifices in an unclean state having failed to acknowledge the Messiah Jesus Christ (Yeshua)? Would this not infuriate God and cause him to send an end-time Nebuchadnezzar to punish Israel and to send them into exile once again? Would this rationale also provide credible reason for God to appoint a legitimate bad guy to serve as His tool of punishment to rectify Israel’s rejection of Jesus?
Matthew 23:39, For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
What if the Red Heifer is not symbolic of the Messiah but is symbolic of the one that is being redeemed…Israel?
In the end you generally have two camps…one that says the restoration of temple sacrifices is a good thing and another camp that says it is not. Now some would say I’m against Israel… If you have read any of my books you would know that is not true and that I am pro-Israel. I’m also pro-Torah. But that does not change the reality of the prophecies of the end time.
Scripture after scripture about the end time shows God is not happy…indeed it is the time of His wrath. Must we only assume it is against Israel’s enemies or also against a messiah rejecting Israel? Notice the Beast of Revelation 13 specifically cites warring against the saints and God’s tabernacle. This is not a causal connection. And if indeed the Beast is given its authority and power by God’s command…he is authorized by God to do what he does for 42 months.
Notice the Red Heifer ashes are used in the middle of the week and on the seventh day (think millennial years). The Passover sacrifice is not used in the middle of the week and at the end of the week. But in the place where the unclean reside the Red Heifer’s ashes and the symbols of the Messiah (Scarlett thread, cedar wood, and the Hyssop) should appear in conjunction. What if they don’t? Not literally…but in conscious acceptance in the mind of the unclean persons… of the reality of those symbols. Would God be incited to judgement? Would that start the 42-month count of the Beast warring against the saints culminating in the False Prophet (Antichrist) taking possession of the Temple?
Daniel 11:36, And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done. 37 Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all. 38 But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things. 39 Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain.
2 Thessalonians 2:4, Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
Revelation 13: 11, And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. 12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. 13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, 14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. 15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. 16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
Keep in mind that this Antichrist, Son of Perdition, Lamb speaking as a dragon are all the same person…The False Prophet. There will not be a duo of the Antichrist and the Beast or the Antichrist and the False Prophet. There will be a restored empire (the Beast-Islamic Ottoman Empire) that received the great wound and is restored and you have its king (False Prophet) which appears in the temple after the Beast wages war for 42 months. Many are terribly confused about these characters. This king appears for one purpose to take over the sanctuary and cause a false image to prosper.
Why would God allow and endorse this to occur? They rejected the true image of God and insist on remaining in that state of denial of the Sin Offering.
2 Corinthians 4:4, In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
1 Corinthians 1:12, Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: 13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: 15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
Those who are not delivered from the state of darkness to light and from the kingdom of this world to the Kingdom of His Son…will not be cleansed on the seventh day as the Red Heifer Sacrifice requires.
Numbers 19:19, And the clean person shall sprinkle upon the unclean on the third day, and on the seventh day: and on the seventh day he shall purify himself, and wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and shall be clean at even. 20 But the man that shall be unclean, and shall not purify himself, that soul shall be cut off from among the congregation, because he hath defiled the sanctuary of the Lord: the water of separation hath not been sprinkled upon him; he is unclean.
You can see the clear connections here. There is no getting around it. What many have missed is that the Beast is appointed by God to do these things. If you are not in Christ…God gives you over to a reprobate mind…and that is exactly what happens to the sanctuary in the end time.
Romans 1:28, And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
Remember the patterns of the sanctuary are patterns of spiritual and heavenly things. That being the case the scriptures do give a likely pattern that God is not happy with Israel in the end time. What many people miss is that if you are not in the sanctuary…you are defiled and in exile…and need to be cleansed. This same prophetic pattern of the Beast waring against the saints appears again in the book of Revelation.
Revelation 17:3, So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. 4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: 5 And upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother Of Harlots And Abominations Of The Earth. 6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.
Take note of the fact that she is in the wilderness…and is clearly unclean…and full of the murder of God’s true saints. She is also dressed in purple and scarlet. What if many of our favorite prophecy teachers are wrong and this is not Islam or New York City…or Europe? What if this whore is Israel having rejected the Messiah and God’s true saints…persecuting them all along the past several thousand years? What if in their unbelief of the Messiah Yeshua…God finally gives them what they want…a false image…just like they asked for at Mt Sinai?
Exodus 32:1, And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him. 2 And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me. 3 And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron. 4 And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. 5 And when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made proclamation, and said, To morrow is a feast to the Lord. 6 And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play. 7 And the Lord said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves:
Remember the sanctuary is a pattern of prophetic realities. We are not trying to make anyone a good or a bad guy. But clearly Aaron is not looking to good right here. He is fulfilling a prophetic role. His life is a prophecy. This act of idol worship and the fact that Aaron serving as priest sets up an altar and a holy day to worship a false god is astounding. Notice all these acts are associated with having “corrupted themselves”. Just like those exiled from the camp needing to be cleansed and the whore riding the Beast…they are all unclean and have a corrupted image…like an image of a Beast instead of the Image of God…typified by Moses on the mountain. Notice Moses is contrasted with “this Moses” which had “shall go before us” just as they desired their new gods to do. This golden calf is meant to replace Moses…who is prophetic of Yeshua.
Deuteronomy 18:15, The Lord thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;
Deuteronomy 34:10, And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face,
Acts 3:22, For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.
Moses is prophetic of Yeshua the Messiah. Both have ascended and Israel is getting anxious to move on with their own image.
Have our prophecy teachers been sloppy by misassigning prophetic patterns to the wrong characters? Is the Fig Tree prophecy really about Israel or is it about the Levitical Priesthood and Jerusalem?
Matthew 21:12, And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, 13 And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves… Now in the morning as he returned into the city, he hungered. 19 And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away. 20 And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away! 21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. 22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. 23 And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority? 24 And Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one thing, which if ye tell me, I in like wise will tell you by what authority I do these things.
Notice this Fig Tree prophecy is central to the events of Yeshua purging the temple of those who buy and sell (think Mystery Babylon’s Sin), the Fig Tree’s failure to produce fruit for the Messiah…its cursing and withering and Yeshua’s return to the Temple only to be questioned by the priests about who gives Him authority to do all those things. We have to question if this prophecy is not generally about Israel…but about the Levitical priesthood and Jerusalem.
Jeremiah 24:1, The Lord shewed me, and, behold, two baskets of figs were set before the temple of the Lord, after that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon had carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, and the princes of Judah, with the carpenters and smiths, from Jerusalem, and had brought them to Babylon. One basket had very good figs, even like the figs that are first ripe: and the other basket had very naughty figs, which could not be eaten, they were so bad. 3 Then said the Lord unto me, What seest thou, Jeremiah? And I said, Figs; the good figs, very good; and the evil, very evil, that cannot be eaten, they are so evil.
It definitely seems likely. Can we get a further witness of Aaron failing in his duties?
Leviticus 10:1, And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the Lord, which he commanded them not. 2 And there went out fire from the Lord, and devoured them, and they died before the Lord. 3 Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that the Lord spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace. 4 And Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said unto them, Come near, carry your brethren from before the sanctuary out of the camp. 5 So they went near, and carried them in their coats out of the camp; as Moses had said.
Notice Nadab and Abihu must be removed from the camp because they are dead…unclean and if they remain in the camp…it will be defiled by them. Remember Nadab and Abihu are fulfilling a prophetic pattern and gives exacting commands to Aaron to be careful what he does even though his natural desire is to sorrow over his dead sons who are a prophetic picture of Adam and Eve.
Leviticus 10:6, And Moses said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Uncover not your heads, neither rend your clothes; lest ye die, and lest wrath come upon all the people: but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which the Lord hath kindled.
This becomes a bone of contention shortly. God gives Aaron further instruction…
Leviticus 10:8, And the Lord spake unto Aaron, saying, 9 Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations: 10 And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;
All of this hard instruction is for one purpose to show the difference between holy and unholy and clean and unclean…just like the Red Heifer sacrifice. Moses has a controversy with the Sons of Aaron…
Leviticus 10:16, And Moses diligently sought the goat of the sin offering, and, behold, it was burnt: and he was angry with Eleazar and Ithamar, the sons of Aaron which were left alive, saying, 17 Wherefore have ye not eaten the sin offering in the holy place, seeing it is most holy, and God hath given it you to bear the iniquity of the congregation, to make atonement for them before the Lord? 18 Behold, the blood of it was not brought in within the holy place: ye should indeed have eaten it in the holy place, as I commanded. 19 And Aaron said unto Moses, Behold, this day have they offered their sin offering and their burnt offering before the Lord; and such things have befallen me: and if I had eaten the sin offering to day, should it have been accepted in the sight of the Lord?
Notice Aaron and his remaining sons refused to take part of the Sin offering due to their grief and delayed in doing so. Moses takes great prophetic exception to that and even specifically cites that the blood of the sin offering has already been taken into the holy place and their failure to consume the sacrifice was delaying the completion of the prophetic pattern. They were challenging Moses’ authority and instruction from the Lord because of how they felt.
So once again the prophetic markers would seem to indicate the possibility that it is the Levitical Priesthood that is the Fig Tree of the Fig Tree prophecy. It is also likely that as such they are Mystery Babylon the Great who is riding the Beast. Can this be possible? Can you love Israel and say such things? It is this same “Great City” where the Two Witnesses will be killed for their testimony. Certainly, they have a word from God that is not well received.
Revelation 11:8, And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.
What you need to ask yourself is if it is possible that this same great city is the same as Babylon the Great that must be destroyed. “Babylon is fallen…is fallen” (Revelation 14:8). What you need to ask yourself is if this can apply to Jerusalem. Babylon falls twice…once by the Beast that she rides, then by Yeshua at His return. Jerusalem also falls twice…once to the Beast and the False Prophet…then to Yeshua. Some people say…God doesn’t beat up His bride before the wedding. I’ve got news for you an unclean and defiled lady in exile from God…is not His bride. She needs to be cleansed through a proper sacrifice and acceptance of the Sin Offering, Yeshua the Messiah. Then she becomes a New Jerusalem and a new creature.
Well, there is a timeline to follow here. The Red Heifer needs to be sacrificed by the time it is 2 years old (after birth). I think it is entirely a valid and open question whether this sacrifice will be acceptable to God or not…and if not, it could start the time clock for the Beast to wage war against the sanctuary of God for 42 months…then the Son of Perdition is revealed (the False Prophet-Lamb speaking as a dragon).
Revelation 13:5, And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
We shall see. Either the Red Heifer sacrifice is accepted by God and God’s wrath is only against Israel’s enemies acting out against Israel for following the Torah or Israel has acted presumptuously and offered an improper sacrifice and God gives power to the Beast to punish and exile Israel for its refusal to partake in the Sin Offering of Jesus the Christ (Yeshua the Messiah).
