THE HIDDEN PATTERN OF THE TWO WITNESSES…AND THE START OF THE TRIBULATION

God reveals the truth of things in patterns. If you can’t find the self-validating pattern, you likely don’t have a full understanding of what is yet to come.

Simply if you fail to evaluate the importance of the 5th Seal and the conversation between God and the Martyrs under the altar…you will miss several important facts. One, the Wrath of God has not occurred by the time of the 5th Seal as the Martyrs complain that God has still not avenged their blood on those who are killing the Saints. Hence, God’s Wrath has not fallen by the 5th Seal. This defangs the Pretribulation argument that the Seals, Trumpets, and Vials are ALL the Wrath of God. Obviously the first 5 Seals are not the Wrath of God.

Two, the beginning of the Tribulation is God’s answer to the Martyrs’ prayer for the judgment of those who are killing the Saints. This is the crucial event that kicks off Daniel’s 70th Week (7-year Tribulation). The Martyrs complain and God answers. First, He shows them the fate of those who are killing the Saints. Why does He show them their fate? He is juxtaposing their fate with the fate of the Martyrs…who are given white robes and told to rest for a little while till their number is completed and the rest of the Martyrs are killed. 

This 6th Seal answer to the Martyrs’ prayer is to show what is about to come to pass. It is a Seal that is not observed by those on the Earth at the moment it is shown to the Martyrs. Some insist this is the time of the Return of Jesus. I don’t debate it is showing that event, but it does not take place at that time it is shown to the Martyrs. Some will contend all the Seals, Trumpets, and Vials are observed by those who dwell on the Earth. Scripture proves this is not the case as the 5th Seal is not observed by anyone on the Earth.

So, if the 6th Seal is not the actual event but God showing what will transpire when those who are killing the Martyrs are judged…why show it then? The Martyrs prayed and complained to God that He was not being just. He answers their prayer and shows the fate of those killing the Martyrs. Why show them that then? Because He is about to start the events that will culminate in that Judgement.

Misconstruing the importance of this interaction between the Martyrs and God leads many to assume that the 6th Seal happens when the Martyrs are shown the Judgement of the Wicked. 

Why is this important? It tells us two things. First, the Tribulation is kicked off by the Martyrs complaint to God that He is delaying too long. Two, it tells us God thinks their complaint is just, answers their prayer, and starts Daniel’s 70th Week (7-year Tribulation). All of the following events are in response to the Martyrs’ prayers.

What about the pattern that proves the prophecy? The Martyrs complain at the 5th Seal. And God shows them the end in the 6thSeal. Daniel’s 70th Week starts at the 7th Seal manifesting what God had shown the Martyrs in secret.  Just as God created seed (hidden) during the first 6 days of Creation, he then manifested the Images of those seeds on the 7th Day Sabbath.

The Martyrs are told to wait till their number is full. And we see the 2 Witnesses calling down the Trumpets of God instructing the world to repent. These 7 Trumpets are not the Wrath of God. They are a wake-up call to the world. 

When does the Wrath of God fall? At the 7th Trumpet the 7 last plagues begin (as defined by the Scriptures-The Wrath of God).

Revelation 15:1, And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.

Any plagues before the “last 7 plagues” are not the Wrath of God. Ok, but what is the pattern? Just as the Martyrs are shown the fate of those killing the Saints at the 6th Seal…their number is completed with the murder of the Two Witnesses at the Sixth Trumpet. This is the connection point.

Revelation 11:11, And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them. 12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them. 13 And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven. 14 The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly. 15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

Notice the Wrath of God doesn’t fall until the Martyrs’ number is complete with the death and resurrection of the Two Witnesses.

Revelation 6:9, And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: 10 and they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? 11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

This would suggest that the Two Witnesses complete the number of the Martyrs and with their death and resurrection, the Wrath of God then falls, and the actual timed fulfillment observed by those on the Earth begins to happen. The Wrath of God falls on those killing the Saints. Just as the Martyrs are shown the fate of the Wicked in the 6th Seal, the last of their number are killed and resurrected at the 6th Trumpet. Just as the 7-year tribulation starts at the 7th Seal, the Wrath of God begins with the 7th Trumpet…both preceded by the legitimate complaint of those who are martyred, first the general assembly under the altar, and then finally by the last of their number…the Two Witnesses.

The Seventh Seal (7-year Tribulation) starts with the offering of the prayers of the Saints. Daniel’s 70th Week starts because of their prayers (Revelation 8:1-7).
