2 Corinthians 3: 7, But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away: 

It was the administration of condemnation and judgment (called the ministration of death) that results in death for the covenant breaker, that was done away. The covenant, which is called the Law, the Written Torah, or the Law of Moses, was not done away. The people were not done away. The Utterances that were written on the stone tablets were not done away. Paul goes on to clarify the change of the administration from the flesh and death (condemnation) to the spirit and life (righteousness). 

What changed? 

The administration turned to the Resurrected Covenant and to the resurrected administrator, Yeshua. 

2 Corinthians 3: 8, How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?  9 For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory. 10 For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth. 11 For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious. 12 Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech: 13 And not as Moses, which put a veil over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end (telos) of that which is abolished: 14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the Old Testament; which vail is done away in Christ. 15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. 16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. 17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. 

What was abolished by this new administration of Yeshua? The enmity of God against sinful man. (Ephesians 2:15) and death (2 Timothy 1:10). It is the administrator of the Resurrected Covenant, typified by the glorified countenance of Moses, which the people are not able to view because the veil covers his glorified countenance. This is a prophetic picture of the coming of the manifest Name of YHWH, the Messiah, as the Countenance of God and the administrator of the Resurrected Covenant. This glorified righteousness, provided by the Countenance of YHWH, the manifest Name of the Lord (YHWH), is the end (telos-Strong’s #G5056, the end to which all things relate, the aim, purpose) or embodiment of His grace that transcribes His righteousness upon us via faith in His name. This is why Paul takes so much time associating the glorified countenance of Moses with the people’s inability to view the fulfillment of the promises of YHWH. 

Romans 10: 1, Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. 2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. 3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. 4 For Christ is the end (telos) of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. 

Again, our righteousness under the Resurrected Covenant is not by our works but by the administrator of the Resurrected Covenant, the glorified Countenance of YHWH, the manifested Name of the Lord (YHWH), whom they could not behold because a veil was over His countenance and over their hearts. We do not do the writing, Yeshua does! The end and fulfillment of the promises was not a dead law written on a dead stone that brings death and condemnation. That death and condemnation was ended, and a resurrected administrator is writing a resurrected Law of Moses on resurrected hearts, all of which are alive. That which is dead has ended, that which is made alive went into effect when the Covenant turned over to the new administrator. Judgment is replaced with grace, death is replaced with resurrected life. Remember this is not an end as in something done away. This is an end as in a prophetic completion or fulfillment. Yeshua is the manifest presence of the Name of YHWH, the administrator of the Resurrected Covenant. The scriptural pattern is showing us death and resurrection, not old and new. 

2 Corinthians 3: 15, But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. 16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. 

Notice the patterns from the scriptures we have already read: 

· The administration of the flesh is abolished and replaced by the spirit. 

· The administration of death is replaced with a glorious countenance of the Messiah not covered by a fleshly garment that is symbolic of corrupted life. It is replaced with resurrected life. 

· The veil that covered the glorified countenance of Moses is taken away so that we can behold the image of YHWH, the countenance of the Father, the image of God, the Messiah Yeshua.
